Eva’s Story

Oregon Cancer Foundation is a Lane County nonprofit dedicated to ensuring no one faces cancer alone. Through financial assistance, support groups, wellness programming, and navigation resources, OCF provides both practical and emotional support to cancer patients throughout their journey.

OCF has partnered with Octavus Media for a number of projects; with work expanding into graphic design, website design, photography, and event branding. For this piece, our team produced a patient story video featuring Eva, an OCF client who navigated both breast cancer and a rare genetic form of lung cancer. Shot across two locations including an outdoor kayaking session and an interview at the OCF office, the video captures Eva as a full person. She is an avid kayaker, a teacher, and a strong member of her community.

The goal of our video project was to challenge the stigma surrounding lung cancer, demonstrate the real impact of OCF's programs, and build an emotional connection with donors and community members without making a direct appeal.
