The Impact Story System
Turning one powerful story into a library of content for your nonprofit.
Memorable impact.
Your organization is doing meaningful work. Let’s tell people about it.
Maybe you have a major fundraiser coming up. A capital campaign. A donor appreciation event.
You love the idea of a video, but the process feels overwhelming…
Who should we interview?
What story should we tell?
How should we structure it?
And if we're investing this much into one video, how do we make sure it keeps working after the event is over?
That's where the Impact Story System comes in.
We help you shape the story, handle the production, and turn one video project into a library of content your team can use across fundraising, web, social, email, and beyond.
The Impact Story System.
One video. Infinite touch points.
If you lead an established nonprofit that's making a real impact but not enough people know your story, we'll turn that impact into a compelling video and a reusable content library in 60 days*
This package includes a 1-hour workshop with your leadership to determine our approach, messaging, and audience. If you don't approve the story strategy before we film, you get a full refund and keep our audience research and messaging framework.

*Most projects are completed within 60 days from the Roadmap Strategy Session date.
more than a fundraiser video
The Impact Story System includes…
Audience Research & Strategy
Strong storytelling starts with understanding who you’re trying to reach. Before the strategy session, we’ll review your organization’s (anonymous) donor and CRM data, conduct independent audience research, and gather perspectives from across your organization so we can enter the conversation with context—not assumptions.
CRM + donor data review to identify useful patterns in your audience while protecting individual identities
Independent audience research to better understand your supporters, community, and the broader context around your mission
Three short stakeholder questionnaires sent to a leadership team member, client-facing staff member, and volunteer to capture different perspectives
90-Minute Roadmap strategy Session
Once the research is complete, we’ll bring your leadership team together for a focused 90-minute Roadmap Strategy session to turn what we’ve learned into a clear storytelling direction. We’ll align on what the story needs to accomplish, who it needs to reach, and how we can tell it in a way that supports the larger fundraising effort.
Review audience insights from our donor research, independent research, and stakeholder questionnaires
Clarify the objective of the video and the action you want audiences to take
Identify the strongest story direction and the human experiences that can bring your mission to life
Select interview subjects and perspectives that can tell that story authentically
Establish key messages and themes we want audiences to understand and remember
Plan how the story will support the larger campaign across video, written content, social, email, and other touchpoints
3-Minute hero Video
The centerpiece of the Impact Story System: a professionally produced hero video built around the people and stories that make your mission matter. We handle the interviews, storytelling, filming, editing, music licensing, captions, and basic motion graphics so your team can focus on the bigger campaign.
Designed around your fundraising goals rather than simply documenting what your organization does
Human-centered storytelling that helps audiences understand and emotionally connect with your mission
Professional interviews and cinematography that reflect the quality and credibility of your organization
Versatile enough for multiple settings including fundraising events, campaign pages, donor meetings, presentations, and your website
Captions, licensed music, and motion graphics included so the final film is ready to share
Instead of another informational nonprofit video, you get a story designed to give people a reason to care—and a reason to act.
2 Social Media Videos
Sometimes your audience only has time for a short, bite-sized video. That’s where social videos come in. We'll turn key moments from your Impact Story into two shorter edits designed to extend the campaign into the places your audience is already spending time.
Short-form versions of your core story that are easier to share across social platforms
Built from the same professional footage so your campaign stays visually and emotionally consistent
Creates additional touchpoints for people who may never see the full-length film
Helps drive audiences toward the full story, campaign, or donation page
Gives your communications team ready-made content without another round of planning, filming, and editing
10 Cinematic B-Roll Clips
There are usually dozens of great moments captured during production that never make it into the final three-minute film. Rather than leaving that footage on the cutting-room floor, we'll deliver ten polished clips your team can continue using in future communications.
Professionally captured footage of your people, programs, environment, and community
Ready for future social content without scheduling another video shoot
Useful for website banners, campaign pages, presentations, and digital advertising
Helps replace generic stock footage with imagery that actually represents your organization
Builds a growing visual library your communications team can draw from throughout the year
Think of it as a small stock-footage library—except it's entirely your own.
Written Impact Story
We don’t stop with a video. Your audience learns about your mission from a variety of content. After the video is approved, we’ll take your Impact Story and create a written version, saving your team time and resources.
SEO-focused writing to help support long-term website traffic and discoverability
Photography from the interview sessions to give the story strong visual support
Portraits of interview subjects for use across web, social, and donor communications
Ready-to-repurpose content that can be adapted for newsletters, LinkedIn, campaign pages, and more
A cohesive story across formats so your written and video content reinforce the same message
It turns one interview process into another polished asset your team can keep using long after production wraps.
One story.
Many ways to put it to work.
Through one strategic creative production, you’ll have a system that can elevate your messaging through professional media.
More return on your investment. More impact.
Know the story before you commit to production.
If the strategy isn't right, don't make the video.
The most expensive time to discover that everyone has a different idea of what the video should be is…after we've filmed it.
So we solve that problem first.
We'll develop the storytelling direction with your team before production begins. You'll have the opportunity to review the plan, ask questions, raise concerns, and make sure everyone is comfortable with where we're headed.
If your team doesn't approve the story strategy, we'll refund 100% of your deposit.
The messaging strategy and production plan is yours to keep. We don’t believe in forcing anyone into an awkward obligation to move forward with a production you don't believe in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ideally, we recommend starting 3–4 months before your fundraiser, campaign launch, or event. That gives us enough time for audience research, story strategy, scheduling interviews, production, editing, and your team’s review without rushing the process.
Because most projects take about 60 days, the extra lead time also gives your team breathing room before the content needs to go live.
-
Most Impact Story System projects are completed within approximately 60 days, depending on scheduling, stakeholder availability, and feedback. We’ll establish the production and delivery schedule with your team at the beginning of the project.
-
We designed the Impact Story System to keep the lift on your staff relatively light.
Your team will primarily participate in a few short questionnaires, the 90-minute strategy session, interview coordination, and key review points. We handle the audience research, planning, production, writing, editing, and asset development. The exact time commitment will vary by organization, but we’ll outline your team’s responsibilities at the beginning of the project so there are no surprises.

You don't need to. Identifying the right story is part of the process. Our audience research, stakeholder questionnaires, and strategy session help us determine which people, experiences, and messages best support your fundraising goals.
-
That depends on the story! Interview subjects might include clients, staff members, volunteers, donors, community partners, or others who can speak authentically about your organization's impact. We'll help you determine the strongest combination during our strategy session.
-
No. Fundraising events are a common reason nonprofits come to us, but the Impact Story System can also support capital campaigns, annual giving, donor cultivation, awareness campaigns, major organizational initiatives, or simply a need for stronger year-round storytelling.
-
Yes. Part of our strategy is thinking beyond the premiere of the hero film and considering how the story can support your larger communications and fundraising efforts.
We’ll also provide a written implementation guide with recommendations for how to share the content and best practices. -
We don’t move into production until your team feels confident in the direction.
If the strategy doesn’t feel right, we’ll refine it together. And if we ultimately can’t develop a direction your team approves, you can walk away before production begins and keep the audience research and messaging framework we’ve developed.
-
No. Some organizations come to us with a specific fundraiser or campaign in mind, while others simply know they need stronger stories and content. The strategy process helps us determine how the story can best support your broader communications and fundraising goals.
The work you do in the community holds many stories.
Let's find the one worth telling and amplify your impact.
If you're preparing for an upcoming fundraising event, capital campaign, giving season, or major organizational initiative, let's talk before someone adds “make a video” to the meeting agenda.
We'll start with what's coming up, what you're trying to accomplish, and whether the Impact Story System is the right fit.
