Community Energy Project

Community Energy Project is a nonprofit based in Portland, Oregon. Since the 1980s, CEP has partnered with low-income communities on the frontlines of climate change to create more resilient, efficient, and healthy homes.
They provide energy efficiency workshops, provide sustainable energy retrofits for income-qualified households, and advocate on behalf of communities struggling with energy burden.
CEP also promotes the use of renewable energy and facilitates Oregon Community Solar; a program which lets electricity customers share local solar projects and receive credits on their monthly utility bills without needing rooftop panels. Their work in the community has helped generations of Portland residents save on their energy costs.
Storytelling through video
Since 2022, Story Squire has worked with CEP to help share client stories, educate the public on energy efficient strategies and home repairs, and share the broader impact of why energy justice is at the heart of climate change. Our team has worked with CEP on videos, print marketing & graphics, a new website (2025), and photography assets for ongoing use.
